NORFOLK, Va. — Old Dominion Lacrosse has its American Conference home opener against Vanderbilt on Saturday, March 21 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. The opening draw is scheduled for noon. 

The game will be streamed on ESPN+, and live stats will be available.

ABOUT THE MONARCHS
ODU is coming off a 12-7 loss to Longwood on Tuesday. Lydia Laney, Molly Heimerl, Natalie Calandra-Ryan, Megan Hopfensberger, Julia Butler, Ella Bowen and Kayleigh Flanegan each scored one goal in the losing effort.

Goalkeeper Brynn Bowen made 11 saves against Longwood and has recorded 93 on the season, which ranks fourth in the country.

Calandra-Ryan leads the team with 26 points on 19 goals and seven assists. She is followed by Lydia Laney, who owns 20 points, seven goals, and 13 assists, which ranks her fifth in the conference for assists. She is tied with Molly Heimerl, who has 20 points, seven goals, and 11 assists, which ranks her 10th in the conference for assists.

Bowen has a 5-5 record in goal while allowing 10.29 goals per game.Defensively, Calandra-Ryan leads the team with 13 caused turnovers and also leads ODU in draw controls with 48 this season.

ODU ranks 11th in the nation in clearing percentage (93%) and 18th in save percentage (48.5%). Bowen ranks 18th in the country in save percentage (45.5%).

ABOUT THE COMMODORES
Vanderbilt is coming off a 15-2 win over Xavier last Saturday. Commodores Regan Torrisi, Bailey Lower and Brooke Baker each notched a hat trick, and Shea Panzik contributed two goals in the win. Molly Krestinski, Hayden Miller, Gaby Putman and Anna Torraletti each pitched in a goal as well.

Goalkeeper Emme Martin registered six saves in the win and has recorded 51 saves with a 4-5 record.

Panzik leads the team with 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists, which ranks eighth in the conference for assists. She is followed by Nancy Halleron, who owns 20 points, 17 goals and three assists, she ranks third in the conference in goals per game, fourth in points per game, and sixth in shots per game. Lower has 19 points on 16 goals and three assists.

The Monarchs go on the road and head to Conway, South Carolina to face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on March 25. The opening draw is scheduled for noon at Fowler Field.
