NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s basketball takes to the four for its final four games of the regular season. The Monarchs face Georgia State on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m. before heading to Conway, S.C. to take on Coastal Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 3:30 p.m.

Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. Wednesday’s game at Louisiana will air on ESPN Radio 94.1, while Saturday’s game will air on Fox Sports Radio 1310 AM. Matthew Hatfield and Shonda Deberry will have the call and live stats will also be available.

ALL-TIME SERIES & LAST TIME OUT:

ODU leads the all-time series against the Panthers, 21-3. The two sides last met on Saturday, Jan. 3 at Chartway Arena and Simaru Fields scored a career-high 29 points in the 73-68 victory for Old Dominion. The Monarchs shot 47.4% from the field and shot 47.8% from behind the arc.

Coastal Carolina tied the all-time series at 3-3 after defeating the Monarchs on Wednesday, Feb. 11 this season. ODU trailed by 10 points with 1:40 left, the Old Dominion women’s basketball team staged a furious comeback that fell just short, and the Monarchs fell to Coastal Carolina, 69-62.

ABOUT ODU:

Old Dominion is looking to continue positive momentum after going 2-0 on the road in their last road trip. ODU’s final four games will be in enemy territory and includes a trip to Harrisonburg for round two of the Royal Rivalry and a meeting with App State. Old Dominion’s Net Ranking heading into Thursday’s contest is 156.

The Monarchs are ranked the 12th best shot blocking team in the nation and are number one in the Sun Belt averaging 5.5 blocks per game. Junior transfer forward Riley Stack is tied for the fourth most blocks in Division I (68) and ranks first in the Sun Belt with 2.52 blocks per game. Cunningham’s 23 blocks are good for eighth in the conference.

ODU is 18th in Division I in total rebounding (42.33) and is 23rd in offensive rebounding output (15.2 orpg). The Monarchs have the second best rebounding offense (42.33) in the Sun Belt and are shooting 71.6% from the free throw line this year to rank fifth in the SBC.

Old Dominion holds opposing teams to 37.5% shooting from the field, which is good for 51st in Division I and is the best in the conference. Buford has 67 steals this season, which is tied for fourth in the SBC, Fields ranks 11th in the conference with 53.

ABOUT GSU:

The Panthers enter Thursday’s contest with a 9-17 overall record and a 4-10 SBC record. GSU is currently on a six-game losing streak with their last three being road losses to App State (73-67), Marshall (71-56), and ULM (81-62). The Panthers are led by head coach Gene Hill in his eighth season in Atlanta.

GSU’s Crystal Henderson paves the way on the offensive side of the ball with 16.5 ppg and a team high 96 assists. Morgan Robinson-Nwagwu grabs 5.5 rebounds per game and scores at a 8.8 ppg clip to rank third on the Panthers. Kaleigh Addie has started 23-of-18 games and ranks second on the team with 10.1 ppg. Henderson and Addie have made 66 three-pointers between the two on 230 attempts.

GSU nets 68.2 points per game but concedes 73.4 for a -5.3-scoring margin. The Panthers shoot 38.1% from the field, 27.6% from deep, and 68.1% from the free throw line. Georgia State grabs 32.0 boards per game and average 11.7 steals per game to their opponents 6.8.

ABOUT CCU:

The Chanticleers are 12-15 and sit in 10th in the Sun Belt with a conference record of 5-9. CCU is led by head coach Kevin Pederson in his fourth season in Conway, S.C. The Chants are 1-4 in their last five games played with the one win coming against ODU last week. Coastal Carolina has a Net Ranking of 134.

Tessa Grady leads the Chanticleers with 14.3 ppg and 76 three-pointers, she is followed by Kristin Williams’ 13.3 ppg. Kinsea Grimes and Tracey Hudson are the leading rebounders for CCU, Grimes leads the Chants with 6.5 rpg followed by Hudson’s 6.3 rpg. Grimes ranks third on the team with 11.6 ppg and Hudson ranks fourth with 11.0 ppg.

Coastal Carolina averages 73.9 ppg and conceded 66.1 for a +7.8-scoring margin. As a team, the Chants shoot 40.8% from the field, 25.0% from deep, and 69.2% from the charity stripe. On the glass CCU reigns in 40.6 boards per game and holds a +2.5-rebounding margin. Coastal Carolina swipes 10.1 steals per game and swats away 3.8 shots per game.
