NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s basketball heads out on a two-game road trip against Marshall and Georgia Southern. ODU meets the Herd on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. and the Eagles on Saturday at 1 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES & LAST TIME OUT:
ODU leads the all-time series against Marshall, 15-9. ODU was down by five with under five minutes to play in the fourth quarter but was able to force overtime thanks to an En’Dya Buford layup with 50 seconds left, but it was Marshall who came out on top, 73-70 on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at the Cam Henderson Center.
ODU leads the all-time series against GS, 6-1. Last time out, the Monarchs had four-out-of-five starters finish in double figures and were fueled by a combined 42 points between En’Dya Buford and Riley Stack en route to the Monarchs’ first Sun Belt Conference win this season, 87-84 in double overtime last Thursday afternoon.
ABOUT ODU:
Old Dominion is coming off a 73-68 victory against Georgia State on Saturday, Jan. 3 at Chartway Arena. The Monarchs are on a three-game win streak with victories over Indiana State (89-68) on Dec. 22 and a double overtime win on New Years against Georgia Southern (87-84)
The Monarchs are the 11th best shot blocking team in the nation, averaging 6.2 blocks per game. Junior transfer forward Riley Stack is eighth in the nation and first in the Sun Belt with 40 blocks. Simone Cunningham’s 18 blocks are good for sixth in the conference and Laila Walker’s 14 blocks are good for 11th in the SBC.
ODU is ranked 21st in Division I in total rebounding (44.13) and is 27th in offensive rebounding output (15.9 orpg). The Silver and Blue ranks sixth in the conference with 10.4 steals per game. ODU is shooting 72% from the free throw line this year to rank fourth in the SBC.
Old Dominion holds opposing teams to 35.4% shooting from the field, which is good for 29th in Division I. ODU forces an average of 19.85 turnovers per game. En’Dya Buford has 35 steals this season which is good for 6th in the SBC, Simaru Fields ranks eighth in the conference with 32.
ABOUT MARSHALL:
The Herd is 13-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play to sit tied for first in the Sun Belt standings. Juli Fulks holds the reins in her third season in Huntington and her 22nd career season overall.
Timaya Lewis-Eutsey leads Marshall with 16.2 points per game, she also leads the Sun Belt and ranks sixth in the country with 55 steals. Olivia Olson is the team’s second leading scorer netting 12.9 ppg and has a team-high 42 shots from deep.
Marshall holds a +15.4-scoring margin against opposing teams and scores 72.9 points per game. The Herd shoots 42.5% from the field, 32.1% from behind the arc, and 75.4 at the free throw line. The Herd also has a -1.0-rebounding margin and grabs 37.3 boards per game.
ABOUT GS:
The Eagles are 10-4 heading into Wednesday's meeting against JMU before meeting the Monarchs on the weekend. GS is steered by Hana Haden in her second season in Statesboro and are 3-1 in conference action.
GS has four players who average double-digit scoring. Destiny Garrett is the team leader with 14.1 ppg followed by Mckenna Eddings’ 13.3. Shanti Simmons has started all 14 games for the Eagles and averages 11.7 ppg. Kishyah Anderson has made eight starts and rounds out the top four scorers with 12.7 ppg.
Georgia Southern scores an average of 76.5 points per game and concedes 66.6 for an +9.9-scoring margin. The Eagles shoot 45% from the field and 27.4% from behind the arc. At the charity stripe, GS shoots 72.7%.
