NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s tennis kicks off the 2026 season at the Michigan Hidden Duals from Friday, Jan. 16 to Saturday, Jan. 18.
The Monarchs begin the weekend in Ann Arbor by competing against No. 13 Ohio State in singles at 10 a.m. and Xavier for doubles. The Monarchs challenge the Buckeyes again on Saturday for doubles competition before meeting No. 7 Michigan in singles. To round out the weekend, ODU faces the Wolverines at 10 a.m. in doubles and Xavier in singles.
ODU returns to the courts without All-American Sophia Johnson, who graduated in May, but returns every other starter from last season’s Sun Belt Championship winning squad while adding Uladzislava Manzhos to the team. The Monarchs went 19-5 last spring, securing their fifth straight conference championship, including their third straight in the Sun Belt Conference, and earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Victoria Matasova is currently 56th in the ITA Singles Rankings, while Lidiia Rasskouskaia and Ulyana Romanova are 20th in doubles with Kira Matushkina and Matasova placing 66th in doubles.
Head Coach Dominic Manilla enters his 15th season at Old Dominion, where he holds a 218-95 record.
