NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Football heads to Orlando, Florida to play in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. against South Florida at Camping World Stadium.

The game is on ESPN and the radio broadcast will be on the ODU Sports Network.

• At 9-3 Old Dominion has its best record since a 10-3 mark in 2016 and will play in its fourth bowl game in program history. This will be the third bowl game in five years on the field under head coach Ricky Rahne.

• The Monarchs have won five-straight games and have outscored opponents 160-47 during the streak.

• ODU defeated Georgia State 27-10 in the regular season finale. Running back Devin Roche carried a career high 21 times for 137 yards and his first career two touchdown game.

• The Monarchs are seventh in the country in rushing yards per game and have rushed for a school record 2,843 yards.

• Safety Jerome Carter leads ODU with 72 tackles and interceptions with four.

• South Florida enters the bowl game with a 9-3 record and went 6-2 in the American. Like the Monarchs, they defeated a Power Four opponent with an 18-16 win over Florida. The Bulls’ offense enters the postseason ranked No. 2 nationally posting 501.7 yards per game and No. 4 scoring 43 points per game. The Bulls posted a program record five games scoring 50 points or more in the regular season.

Running For Days
Old Dominion set the school season rushing record with 2,843 yards and are two carries away from breaking the record for most carries in a season. The Monarchs rushed for 303 yards in the season finale win over Georgia State. It was the fourth time this season ODU rushed for more than 300 yards in a game.

ODU is second in the Sun Belt and seventh in the country with 236.9 rushing yards per game.

Domination on Both Sides of the Ball
ODU outgained Georgia Southern 551-249, making the yardage margin total 302. ODU has outgained opponents by 300 or more yards four times this season, including three times against Sun Belt teams. They are one of six teams to do so four times this season. Of the six teams, ODU, JMU and Oregon have had the 300 yard margin in three conference games.

ODU is second in the Sun Belt and tied for 12th in the country in sacks.

ODU set a school record with nine sacks in the win over Troy. 

Jeremy Mack leads the squad with 4.5 sacks and the defense has 16 players with at least half a sack on the season.

O Line Continuity
Of the 134 FBS programs, Old Dominion is one of nine to have started the same five offensive linemen in every game so far this season. Left tackle Zach Barlev, left guard Skyler Grant, center Ryan Joyce, right guard Maarten Woudsma and right tackle Stephon Dubose-Bourne have started each game for the Monarchs.

Fast Start Monarchs
During its five-game winning streak, Old Dominion has outscored opponents 48-0. The Monarchs have not allowed points in the first quarter since giving up 14 to James Madison. For the season, ODU has only allowed 28 first quarter points and have not allowed any first quarter points in its eight wins. ODU gave up seven points in the first quarter to Indiana and Marshall scored on a pick six in the first Quarter.
