Colton Joseph Named to Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2025

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion quarterback Colton Joseph has been named to the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2025, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced on Thursday.

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion quarterback Colton Joseph has been named to the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2025, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced on Thursday.

Joseph has completed 130-of-208 passes for 2,000 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions, while rushing 90 times for 548 yards and six touchdowns.

Joseph is second in the country in yards per completion at 15.38, third in total offense at 318.5 yards per game, fifth in points responsible for and seventh in rushing yards per game by a quarterback.

He leads the Sun Belt Conference in passing yards and total offense and is fifth in the league in rushing yards.

Joseph is coming off his second 300-yard passing game of the year, as he completed 21-of-35 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns in ODU’s 24-21 win over App State last Saturday. He also rushed for 61 yards in the win.

For the fifth straight year, fan voting on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) will earn players bonus selection committee votes during the semifinalist, finalist and winner voting rounds. First-round fan voting will begin immediately following the QB Class announcement. The list of semifinalists selected from the QB Class will be named on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The Foundation will announce the three finalists two weeks later (Tuesday, Nov. 25). The 2025 Davey O’Brien Award winner will be unveiled live on ESPN on Friday, Dec. 12, during The Home Depot College Football Awards.

The Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the nation’s best college quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award.
