NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion field hockey goes on the road for a BIG EAST match at #6 Liberty this Friday, then returns to Norfolk to host #3 North Carolina on Sunday at the LR Hill Sports Complex. 

Both games will have live stats and be streamed. 

ABOUT THE MONARCHS: 

ODU (4-5) is coming off a mixed result weekend, recording a shutout win against Quinnipiac 2-0 on Friday before a 4-1 loss against #12 Michigan on Sunday. 

Sian Emslie leads the Monarchs in points with 14. She recorded an assist against Quinnipiac and scored the lone goal for the Monarchs in the last three seconds of the game against Michigan. She is followed by Josie Painter with 12 points, who scored a goal against the Bobcats and took one shot against the Wolverines.  

The Monarchs are tied for first place in the BIG EAST with Liberty with 2-0 records. 

ABOUT THE FLAMES: 

Liberty (7-1) is coming off a 4-0 shutout against William & Mary with goals by Dara Semmartin, Avery Pollock, and two by Lou Combrinck. Goalkeeper Diane Saint Martin played the full 60 minutes against the Tribe for her fourth clean sheet of the season. 

Lou Combrinck leads the Flames with 16 points, four goals, and eight assists. She is followed by Dara Semmartin who has six goals, six assists. Goalkeeper Saint Martin has 25 saves on the season with a 75.8% save percentage. 

ABOUT THE TAR HEELS: 

North Carolina (9-1) are coming off a 2-1 ACC win against Boston College. Dani Mendez assisted Isabel Boere on the first goal, and Sanne Hak was unassisted on the game winner. Goalkeepers Merritt Skubisz and Katie Wimmer split time in the net with Skubisz recording a save against the Eagles.

Ryleigh Heck leads the Tar Heels with 27 points for 12 goals, and three assists. She is followed by Mendez who has 18 points, for five goals, and three assists. Goalkeeper Skubisz leads in saves with 20 on the season, she is followed by Wimmer who records 19. 

The Tar Heels are ranked third in the ACC following a 2-1 2OT loss to Wake Forest.

The Monarchs will go on the road for another BIG EAST Conference match up at Villanova October 10th, in Conshohocken, Pa. for a 1 p.m. start time.
