NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion men’s soccer welcomes UCF to the ODU Soccer Complex for a return to Sun Belt Conference action. The Monarchs meet the Knights on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

The game will be streamed to ESPN+ and live stats will be available for any fans who wish to follow along with the action.

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST UCF:

UCF’s Lucca Dourado opened the scoring in Norfolk, six minutes into the contest on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024. Ousmane Ba found Dourado for the assist to give the Knights the lead. Mouhamed Pouye put UCF up 2-0 in the 89th to put the match to bed. ODU had seven shots and two on target while taking six corners to UCF’s two.

ABOUT ODU:

Old Dominion comes into this matchup after drawing in its last Sun Belt game 1-1 after taking on South Carolina in Columbia. ODU played a midweek game against Regent and secured a 10-0 win over the Royals.

Junior forward Lewis Rourke leads the Silver and Blue with 13 points from a team high five goals and has also provided three assists. Jake Lane and Alex Kryazhev both have 10 points each. Kryazhev has a team high six assists which is good for 19th in the nation and two goals. Lane has four goals and two assists. Barrett Saul and Michael Eberle round out the Monarchs’ top five point leaders with seven each.

The Monarchs rank first in the Sun Belt in shots (14.58) and ODU is in second for points (7.08 avg/g), goals (27), goals per game (2.25), assists (31), assists per game (2.58), and corners (73).

Michael Statham has started 11 games for Old Dominion and has made 35 saves. His 3.18 saves per game ranks second in the Sun Belt.

ABOUT UCF:

The Knights are riding high into Saturday's matchup with the Monarchs, UCF is on a three-game win streak after starting the season 2-5-1. They’ve knocked off South Carolina (2-0), Georgia Southern (3-0), and Bradley University (5-1).

Clarence Awoudor ranks first on the Knights with 17 points from a NCAA leading 11 assists and three goals. Lilian Ricol has a team high five goals and has dished two assists for 12 points. Malick Thiaw has three goals and three assists and Claudel N’goubou has three goals and two assists.

Juanvi Muñoz has started every game this season and earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week last week. He has made 31 saves, has four shutouts, and a save percentage of 70.5%.
