NORFOLK, Va - Old Dominion women’s soccer heads to Conway, South Carolina for the second matchday in Sun Belt Conference play on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. at the Coastal Carolina Soccer Stadium.

The game will be streamed to ESPN+ and live stats will be available for all fans who wish to follow along with the action.

LAST TIME OUT:

The Monarchs played the Chanticleers on Friday Sept. 20, 2024 in Norfolk. The first half was a scoreless affair. ODU had 14 shots in the first half and forced CCU’s goalkeeper Vivienne Carr to make three saves. In the second half ODU fell behind 1-0 after Coastal’s Julia Ziegenfuss slotted the ball in the back of the net in the 71st minute. Brooke Edwards leveled the game in the 83rd minute thanks to an assist from Yuliia Khrystiuk. ODU had 14 shots in the second half and Coastal’s goalkeeper Carr had to make seven saves to deny the Monarchs the three points.

ABOUT ODU:

ODU is coming off a 1-0 win over in-state rival JMU in the TowneBank Royal Rivalry and is 3-0-1 in its last four games. ODU head coach Angie Hind secured her 100th career win with Old Dominion after the Monarchs most recent victory over the Dukes.

Junior defender Ashlynn Kulha has started all eight games for ODU and has scored two goals for four points. She scored the winning goal in the eighth minute against JMU on Thursday on a header off a corner kick. Junior midfielder Riley Mullen was recently named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals in two games, she leads the Monarchs with seven points. Senior forward Khrystiuk is Old Dominion’s leading passer with four assists.

ODU goalkeepers Ellie Goodrich and Erin Jones have split time in net with four starts each. Jones has made four saves and has one clean sheet. Goodrich has made 12 saves and has two clean sheets this season.

ABOUT CCU:

The Chanticleers are 1-1-1 in their last three games and are coming off a 4-1 loss to South Alabama. They have beaten Richmond in the opening game of the season, Campbell on the road, and ECU at home.

CCU’s Dolcie O’Connor leads the Chanticleers with six points from three goals, Eleanor Ashton ranks second on the team in points and is first in assists with four points coming from two assists and one goal. In goal for Coastal is Aris Lamanna, she has eight starts and has 32 saves and two shutouts.
