NORFOLK, Va - Old Dominion women’s soccer hosts in-state rival James Madison in the return of the TowneBank Royal Rivalry on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Stadium.

The game will be streamed to ESPN+ and live stats will be available for all fans who wish to follow along with the action.

LAST TIME OUT:

The Monarchs last met the Dukes in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Nov. 7, 2024 and fell 1-0. Ginny Lackey scored the lone goal of the game in the eighth minute of action. ODU had 10 shots with six on target but could not get the ball past JMU goalkeeper Sofia DeCerb.Yuliia Khrystiuk had the most shots for Old Dominion with four total and two on target.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION:

Old Dominion is coming off a 1-1 draw in their first Sun Belt Conference matchup against App State. The Monarchs stand at 4-1-2 this season, the lone loss this year came at home to Liberty.

The Monarchs have had two players already receive Sun Belt Weekly Honors. Ashlynn Kulha was named Defensive Player of the Week after ODU’s 2-0 win over Maryland and Riley Mullen took home Offensive Player of the Week last time out for scoring three goals over two games.

ODU has outscored opponents 10-6 and has outshot opponents 98-42. Mullen leads the team with seven points on three goals and one assist. Gry Boe Thrysoe ranks second on the Monarchs with five points from two goals and one assist. Yuliia Khrystiuk has three assists this season to rank first on ODU.

Erin Jones and Ellie Goodrich have both seen action in goal for the Silver and Blue. Jones has made four starts and has four saves with a 2-1-1 record. Goodrich is right behind her with three starts, eight saves, and a 2-0-1 record in goal. Both keepers have one clean sheet this season.

ABOUT JAMES MADISON:

JMU is 1-1-1 in its last three games played which were all at home. James Madison are coming off a 1-1 draw at home to Coastal Carolina. The Dukes fell 3-0 to #23 North Carolina and defeated Maryland 1-0.

Lackey leads the Dukes with 15 points on six goals and three assists in nine games played. Ellie Farrell and Audrey Orrock both rank second on JMU with six points. Orrock is the team’s second leading scorer with three goals.

DeCerb and Lili White have both split time in goal for JMU. White has four games in net and has made nine saves but also conceded five goals. DeCerb has seven games played with seven goals allowed and 20 saves made.
