ODU hit the back of the net early in the first half, with Brooke Edwards scoring her first goal of last season from an assist by Andy Balcazar in the sixth minute of action. Two minutes later, in the eighth minute, Balcazar switched to being on the receiving end of a ball from Rhea Kijowski to extend the Monarchs lead and put the game to bed. ABOUT OLD DOMINION:

Old Dominion is coming off a thrilling match against the #19 Hoyas which saw Gry Boe Thrysoe play hero with a late equalizing goal from outside the box. Earlier in the game she was also responsible for placing an excellent cross in the direction of newcomer Madison Telmer who got ODU on the board first. GU conceded 10 goals last season and gave away 20% of that total in their first game against the Monarchs.

Thrysoe leads the team in total points (3) and is hoping to continue the positive momentum built from Thursday’s game into Sunday.

Coming into the 2025, ODU signed an eight-member recruiting class. Emmaline Bell, Koto Davis, Ashley Economopoulos, Finja Kappmeier, Navi Kawesi-Mukooza, Dylan McEntarfer, Cecilia Riggs, and Telmer.
