NORFOLK, Va. – No. 56 ranked Old Dominion University men’s tennis will take on No. 53 Purdue in the ITA Weekend Kickoff on Friday, Jan. 23 at Ohio State.
The ITA Weekend Kickoff is the qualifier for the national indoor tournament which is Feb. 6-10 in Waco, Texas.
Purdue finished 12-10 with four wins over ranked teams, including a win over No. 20 Illinois.
The Monarchs won their third-straight Sun Belt Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.
Ohio State will take on North Alabama in the other match of the four-team bracket with the two winners playing on Saturday, Jan. 24.
“We are excited to get back to the KOW (Kickoff Weekend). There are only 56 spots based on this year’s final national rankings, so it’s nice that we can booster our schedule for next year with the success we had this year. Going to Ohio State is a great opportunity for our guys, especially being a 3 seed and playing a high-quality team in Purdue first. It’s half a year out from now, but again I’m excited to keep the momentum going from the Spring.”
