NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Old Dominion women’s lacrosse fell to Vanderbilt in its regular season finale on Saturday afternoon by a 16-6 score.

Vanderbilt (9-8) opened the day with a goal on a free-position shot just 40 seconds in, courtesy of Brooke Baker. Teammate Cate Bradley followed suit with a goal of her own, though Sarah Murrell would put Old Dominion (8-9) on the board two minutes later on a free-position shot. Baker netted in her second of the game with under eight minutes left in the first quarter while Commodore Nancy Halleron scored four minutes later with a man-up advantage to give Vanderbilt a 4-1 lead by the end of the quarter.

The Commodores opened the second quarter with a Maddie Barkate goal. Teammate Jamie Miskup found the back of the net one minute later, and Molly Finlay added onto Vanderbilt’s lead just 40 seconds later. To increase their lead to 8-1, Anna Taraboletti scored on a player-up advantage. Both Miskup and Bradley netted in their second goals of the day, and with one more goal from Miskup, Vanderbilt gained a 10-point lead. Finlay scored one more goal to end the quarter, with ODU entering halftime down 12-1.

Old Dominion’s Sylvia Mayo opened the third quarter with a goal for the Monarchs, scoring off a free-position attempt. Commodores Kemper Robinson and Bradley responded with two goals each within the next five minutes, Katie Pfeiler netted one in for ODU assisted by Lydia Laney with four minutes remaining. Vanderbilt’s Halleron finished the quarter with a goal under the two-minute mark, extending the Commodores’ lead to 15-3 at the end of the quarter.

Pfeiler found the back of the net a second time just one minute into the fourth quarter, with Corryn Jones following behind four minutes later. Baker would break up Old Dominion's scoring with a goal of her own, though Callie Culhane responded with another goal for the Monarchs. However, ODU was unable to come back from the deficit, falling 16-6 in its final regular season game.

Five Monarchs scored, including Pfeiler who had a team-high two goals. Culhane and Laney tied for one assist each while Peyton Kisling had four draw controls. Goalies Brynn Bowen and Hannah Shaddock accounted for six total saves.
