POINT CLEAR, Ala. – Old Dominion women's golf will be in Point Clear, Alabama this week to play in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championship.
Held at Lakewood Golf Club, the Championship will include all 13 women's golf programs in the conference. The teams will play the club’s Dogwood Course, which is 6,106 total yards with a par of 72.
The Championship will begin with three rounds of stroke play this Monday through Wednesday, April 14-16 and each round will start at 9 a.m. EST. The top four teams will then advance to match play on Thursday, April 17 with an 8:30 a.m. EST scheduled start. The No. 1 seed and No. 4 seed will tee off from the first hole and the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds will tee off from the 10th hole. The championship match will follow the conclusion of the semifinal matches.
The Sun Belt will stream the tournament on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on Scoreboard.
ODU’s lineup will include Puneet Bajwa, Barbara Car, Lucia Gonzalez, Mariana Arronte and Alina Shchepteva. The Monarchs had four Top 10 finishes in 2024-25, beginning their fall slate with an eighth-place finish at Purdue’s Boilermaker Classic (Sept. 2-3). The team then tied for fourth at Furman’s Lady Paladin Invitational (Sept. 20-22) and took sixth at the Evie Odom Invitational (Oct. 4-6). ODU also tied for ninth at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate on March 3-4.
At last year’s Sun Belt Championship, the Monarchs punched their ticket to the semifinals by placing fourth in stroke play. They combined for a 21-over par 885 to secure the No. 4 seed and edge Arkansas State by one stroke. Gonzalez earned All-Tournament Team honors after placing fourth overall with an even score of 216. Puneet Bajwa tied for 10th at four-over 220, and Carley Rudolf carded a seven-over 223 to tie for 23rd.
ODU then took on top-seeded Texas State in the semifinals, falling 3-0 in match play. Gonzalez was two holes up through 15 holes and Bajwa was tied through 15 holes when the Bobcats clinched the win.
