NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion’s Lacrosse’s McKenzie Raech has been named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Raech forced two caused turnovers and secured three draw controls in a 7-4  win over Lafayette. The defender out of Wallingford, Pennsylvania leads the Monarchs with nine caused turnovers and is tied for first with Sarah Murrell with 30 draw controls this season. She has grabbed 10 ground balls and started all seven games for ODU this season

Sarah Murrell was an AAC honorable mention this week, scoring two goals, grabbing three ground balls, causing five turnovers, and securing two draw controls in the 14-6 loss to VCU. In the win over Lafayette, Murrell scored two goals, grabbed three ground balls, and secured one draw control. The freshman out of Perryville, Maryland leads ODU with 16 goals this season and is second on the team with 12 ground balls.

Old Dominion (5-2) will be in action on Wednesday, March 5 at 1 p.m. vs. Howard.
