NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s basketball faces Purdue Fort Wayne, the runner up out of the Horizon League, in the second round of the WNIT this Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET.

The Monarchs (18-15) are coming off a 21-point win against Navy in the first round of the WNIT, 63-42. En’Dya Buford led the Monarchs with 18 points on 50% shooting and added two steals. Kelsey Thompson (9 points and 12 rebounds) and Simone Cunningham (11 points and 9 rebounds) with both almost recording a double-double. The Monarchs had control of the game from the start and finished the game holding their opponent to 20.5% shooting while creating seven steals on the defensive end.

The Mastodons (25-8) finished second in the Horizon League regular season before losing in the semifinal game of the Horizon League tournament. They are led by Lauren Ross who averages 15.5 points per game while being the nation’s leader in three-point shooting with a 47.7% clip from beyond the arc. Ross is also the nation's leader in free throw percentage shooting 94.4% from the line.

Purdue Fort Wayne as a team is one of the nation’s best scoring teams, ranking in the Top 25 for scoring margin (+15.9) and Top 15 in both three-point percentage (37.6%) and three pointers per game (9.3).
