MONROE, La. – The 68th-ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team ran its winning streak to six matches on Saturday with a 4-0 win at ULM in Sun Belt Conference action.
In doubles, the Monarchs took wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots for the team point. Kira Matushkina and Allison Isaacs defeated Raquel Alvaro and Mackenzie King 6-1 at No. 3 to get the first win. Alexandra Viktorovitch and Ulyana Romanova clinched the team point with a 6-3 win over Angela Del Campo and Giovanna Pereira at No. 2.
In singles, ODU got rolling with Romanova at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over King for a quick 2-0 lead. The margin went to 3-0 behind Lidiia Rasskouskaia with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Pereira at No. 4. Viktorovitch locked up the team win with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Mariam Hatem at No. 2.
ODU (10-5, 6-0) was ahead in the other three matches with Sofia Johnson leading 6-2, 4-2 at No. 1, Isaacs up 6-4, 1-0 at No. 3 and Matushkina ahead 6-4, 3-0 at No. 5.
The Monarchs now head to JMU on Saturday for a 10 a.m. Royal Rivalry matchup in Harrisonburg.
