NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion Field Hockey midfielder Frederique Zandbergen has etched her name into the ODU Field Hockey Record Book.
On Senior Day, Zandbergen found Tess Jedeloo with an accurate entry pass that was set by Rina Tsioles to secure her 54th assist. This broke a tie that was held between her and Dana Sensenig for #10 All Time at Old Dominion. A spot has not been changed since 2006 when Sensenig broke into the list herself.
“I am proud of Freddy for many things she has brought to ODU, and to our teams over the past four years. This accomplishment is just one of the special things she has done,” said ODU Head Coach Andrew Griffiths.
Zandbergen can still move further up the list heading into the BIG EAST Conference Tournament.
In the regular season finale, despite the loss, Zandbergen registered an assist from a penalty corner bringing her updated career tally to 55 total assists.
Sitting at #9 on ODU’s all-time assist leaderboard is Angie Loy with 56 assists.
