NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion Football hosts Marshall in the regular season home finale on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. 

The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and available on radio at ESPN Radio 94.1 FM.

• Running Back Aaron Young had 17 carries for a career-high 116 yards and a touchdown against James Madison. It was the second-straight game Young recorded 100-yards rushing. He had 110 yards rushing the previous game at App State.

• Quarterback Colton Joseph completed 9-of-21 for 189 yards with an interception. He also had 13 carries for 35 yards and tied his career-high with three rushing touchdowns, tying his previous career high with three rushing scores in the win over Texas State.

• Wide receiver Diante Vines caught four passes for a career-high 89 yards.

• Linebacker Koa Naotala registered his third double-digit tackle game of the season with 11 stops against JMU. He also notched a half a sack.

• Marshall defeated Coastal Carolina 31-19 last week in Huntington. Braylon Braxton completed 20-of-31 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 30 yards. JJ Roberts led the Thundering Herd with 12 tackles and had four pass breakups.

• ODU played a Division I record 11 one-score games in 2023, going 6-5 in those games. So far this season 7-of-the first-10 have been one score games. Nineteen of the last 24 games have been decided by one score.

Sophomore Gets Comfortable
Linebacker Mario Thompson leads ODU with four sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss in his second season with the Monarchs. He is 12th in the league in sacks.

In 2023 as a true freshman, Thompson had 42 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss.

Red Zone Defense
ODU has the third best red zone percentage in the Sun Belt, trailing only Marshall and James Madison. ODU has allowed 19 touchdowns and eight fiield goals in the red zone.

ODU/MU Familiarity
ODU Head Coach Ricky Rahne and Marshall Head Coach Charles Huff worked together at Penn State from 2014-17.

Rahne also spent time at Penn State and Vanderbilt with Marshall safeties coach, Bob Shoop.

Marshall Offensive Coordinator Seth Doege and ODU Offensive Line coach Alex Huettel spent two years together at Bowling Green from 2016-17. Doege was a GA in 2016 and wide receivers coach in 2017. Huettel spent both seasons at his Alma Mater.

Marshall Cornerbacks coach Henry Baker and ODU Running Backs coach Tony Lucas worked together at Delaware from 2013-16.

Old Dominion linebacker EJ Green and Marshall defensive end Mike Green are brothers. EJ, a former walk-on, started the first three games of 2023 for ODU before a season-ending injury and began this season injured but has played in the previous six games. 

Marshall defensive end Deeve Harris played at Old Dominion from 2021-22. Harris had 24 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2021. He became the first ODU player to score two defensive touchdowns in one season. He recorded 32 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2022. 

Harris was at Minniesota in 2019-20 before coming to ODU. He played at Colorado in 2023.

Marshall safety Ishmael Roy spent the 2022 season at Old Dominion.
