NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion Field Hockey team (5-4) is looking to bounce back from two straight defeats on Friday, October 4, when Providence (5-5) comes to Norfolk.

In the last meeting between the two sides, Old Dominion went down 1-0 when Eleonore De Keyser put the Friars ahead. Old Dominion trailed with four minutes left in regulation until a goal from Sacha De Grier brought the teams level. The match went to overtime and ODU came out on top through a Marlon De Bruijne goal with less than a minute remaining to win 2-1.

ABOUT ODU:

ODU comes into this contest having lost two matches to Temple (1-0) and VCU (2-1) last weekend. Tess Jedeloo leads the team with seven goals in nine games, for 14 total points. Serena Langedoen has scored three goals in the last three games. Langedoen has five goals and one assist this season for 11 points. Frederique Zandbergen ranks second on the team in points with 13 and ranks first in the team for assists with seven.

Suus Broers has started all nine games in goal, logging 498 minutes and recording 29 saves.

ABOUT PROVIDENCE:

The Friars are coming off two straight losses to Liberty (2-1) and New Hampshire (6-1) and are looking to get back above .500. Providence is led by Bo Martina, Ally DeCoste, and Macie

Pennisi. Martina leads the team with 11 points, DeCoste ranks second with 10, and Pennisi holds the third spot with nine.

Asia Porter has started all 10 games in goal for the Friars, logging 613 minutes and recording 29 saves.

Old Dominion will head to College Park, Maryland, to take on Georgetown Thursday, October 10 at 5 p.m.
