NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team will head to Charlottesville for the ITA Atlantic Regionals on the campus of the University of Virginia.

The tournament begins on Thursday with two rounds of singles qualifying rounds. Main draw singles and doubles begins on Friday and will run through Monday afternoon.

Mya Byrd and Ulyana Romanova will play in the qualifying rounds on Thursday at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. respectively, wins at those times will put them into a second match later Thursday to advance into the main draw. The rest of the team was placed into main draw action starting Friday morning.

The tournament will consist of: Coppin State, Delaware State, George Mason, George Washington, Georgetown, Howard, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, Loyola (MD), Marshall, Morgan State, Mt. St. Mary’s, Norfolk State, Radford, Towson, Navy, Maryland, Richmond, Virginia, VCU, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, William & Mary, and the Monarchs.

The ITA All-American Championships now serves as one of four qualifying pathways to the NCAA Individual Championships which will be held in the fall season for the first time on November 19-24 in Waco, Texas.

From the ITA Atlantic Regional, the two singles finalists and the doubles champion will earn automatic bids to the NCAA Individual Championships.
