URBANDALE, Iowa – Old Dominion women's tennis team completed play in the Iowa State regional of the ITA Kickoff Weekend Tournament by falling 4-0 to third-ranked Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon.
"A tough match today as Oklahoma State is a very good team and it showed," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla. "I am pleased with the effort our program competed with today. We wanted the win, but we did learn a lot and it will help us come postseason."
In doubles, the Cowgirls took wins at the top two spots by 6-1 and 6-0 scores to claim the doubles point. In singles, with a lineup that featured four top 60 ranked players, the Cowgirls took victories at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 spots to claim the 4-0 win.
ODU will play its first home matches of 2024 next weekend as they'll face Wake Forest on February 3 and Penn State on February 4.
