NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team starts the second half of a two-week homestand on Wednesday night with James Madison coming to Chartway Arena for a 7:00 p.m. tip.
On Saturday, the Monarchs will host Georgia Southern also at 7:00 p.m on Alumni Night as well as Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers night.
You can catch the games on ESPN+ with Scott Jackson and Billy Mann, while fans can also listen to the game on Priority Auto Sports Radio 94.1 FM with Ted Alexander and Dennis Wolff on the call starting at 6:30 p.m.
TOWNEBANK ROYAL RIVALRY
This marks the second year of the TowneBank Royal Rivalry series between ODU and JMU, which amplifies school pride between the two universities and rekindles a decade old rivalry steeped in tradition across all shared sports programs.
TowneBank is a longstanding supporter of college athletics, and they are excited to cheer along the healthy competition between Old Dominion University and James Madison University. TowneBank is fortunate to have a strong alumni base on both sides of the rivalry and looks forward to seeing who will hoist the crown for the 2023-2024 academic year.

This marks the 90th meeting between the schools with the Monarchs holding a 58-31 advantage. JMU defeated the Monarchs 84-69 on December 9 in a non-conference matchup.
ABOUT ODU
The Monarchs start the back half of their two-week homestand after falling 80-73 to ULM on Saturday night. Chaunce Jenkins had 20 points to lead three in double figures.
Vasean Allette leads the Monarchs in scoring averaging 17.6 points per game, in rebounding at 5.9 per game, assists with 51 and steals with 33. Jenkins follows him in scoring at 15.7 per game, along with 4.0 rebounds. Tyrone Williams rounds out the double figure scorers at 12.4 per game and is second in rebounding at 5.8 per game.
As a team, the Monarchs are averaging 72.1 points per game and allowing 77.2. They are hitting .430 from the floor compared to .439 for opponents. The Dukes are among the others receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll. They defeated Marshall 67-52 on Saturday as Terrence Edwards scored 20 points, Noah Friedel added 14 and eight rebounds, with Jaylen Carey scored 10 off the bench.
Edwards leads four in double figures for JMU averaging 17.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. T.J. Bickerstaff is averaging 13.9 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds per game with a team-best .636 field goal percentage. Friedel averages 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, while Julien Wooden adds 10 points per game.
As a team, JMU is averaging 85.9 points per game and allowing 69.2. From the floor, they're hitting .475 and .338 from 3-point range. Their opponents are hitting .413 from the floor and .284 from 3-point range. At the foul line, JMU is hitting .706 to their opponents .707. They're outrebounding opponents 40.4 to 34.8.

The Eagles start a road weekend at App State on Thursday before heading to ODU on Saturday night. Georgia Southern defeated Georgia State 86-70 on January 20 as Cam Bryant paced four in double figures with 19 points in the home win.
Tyren Moore leads Georgia Southern in scoring averaging 14.8 points per game and assists (56) as the lone double figure scorer. The Eagles have six players averaging between six and nine points per game. Avantae Parker leads the team in blocked shots (16) and rebounding (5.1 rpg).
Georgia Southern is averaging 70 points per game and allowing 79.1. From the floor, the Eagles are hitting .417 and .359 from 3-point range, while opponents are hitting .461 from floor and .360 from 3-point land.
