NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Sailing finished in third place at the Navy Women’s Regatta to open a packed opening weekend.

The Monarchs finished third at the Navy Women’s Regatta as the Division A team of Gianna Dewey and Allison Volk delivered eight top-10 finishes, including four race wins. The Division B team of Emma Friedauer and Morgan Auth had one race win.

At the Riley Cup in Norfolk, ODU finished in sixth and 11th place overall. Diogo Silva and Asia Acosta led the way with a trio of top-five places while Olivia Gilmore and Isabelle Kanach had a pair of top-five finishes.

At the Navy Laser Regatta, Pierce Brindley finished seventh, Sam Riley eighth and Blake Goodwin placed 11th.

The Monarchs will compete in the Chesapeake Invitational next weekend back in Annapolis.
