NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's golf has its first tournament of the fall 2024 season this Sunday through Tuesday, Sept. 8-10 as the Monarchs make their way to the Palmetto State to play in the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate.

Coastal Carolina is hosting the three-day tournament at Grande Dunes Resort Club. Sunday’s first round will begin at 8 a.m., with the Monarchs scheduled to tee off from the first hole between 8-8:40 a.m. ODU will be paired with App State and Texas State for the first day of the Intercollegiate. The course at Grande Dunes is 7,578 total yards with a par of 72 and live stats will be available through GolfStat.

In addition to the Monarchs and host Chanticleers, the 14-team field will also feature App State, Campbell, East Carolina, Elon, Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville, James Madison, Maryland, Santa Clara, Texas State, UTEP and Western Carolina.

The lineup for ODU will consist of returners Kaijun Ma, Jacob Gunther and Philip Minnehan as well as newcomers Jakub Sutor and Garret Cameron.

The Monarchs bring back four golfers from the 2023-24 season, the other returner being senior Cullen Campbell. The team’s two other newcomers for 2024-25 include James Page and Joseph MacPherson. ODU posted seven Top-10 finishes as a team last year, to include placing second at the 2023 ODU/OBX Intercollegiate and a couple of third-place performances in the Donald Ross Collegiate Classic and Cutter Creek Intercollegiate during the spring.
