ODU and Bowling Green Ties
ODU Offensive Line Coach Alex Huettel returns to his alma mater on Saturday as Huettel was a four-year starter on the offensive line for the Falcons from 2011-15. Huettel started a program record 55-straight games. He was the anchor of an offensive line that helped Bowling Green set program records in points (591), first downs (389), passing yards (5,135), total yardage (7,655) and total offensive touchdowns (81) in 2015. Huettel earned All-MAC honors three times (2013-15) and Phil Steele first-team All-America accolades as a senior.
Huettel got his start in coaching with Bowling Green during the 2016-17 season. Current Bowling Green assistant strength coach Brandon Polidar was a strength coach intern at the time.
Bowling Green offensive line coach Greg Nosal is a native of Virginia Beach, just a short drive from Norfolk.
