NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women's golf resumes its fall season this weekend when the Monarchs travel to Greenville, South Carolina to compete in Furman’s Lady Paladin Invitational. The three-day tournament, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Sept. 20-22, marks the 50th anniversary of the event.
The Furman University Golf Course is 6,262 total yards with a par of 72. The first two rounds on Friday and Saturday will begin with 10 a.m. shotgun starts, while Sunday’s final round will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Fans can follow along with live stats on Scoreboard.
This year’s field will consist of 13 teams. Joining Furman and ODU at the Invitational will be Augusta, Ball State, Columbia, Daytona State, Georgia State, High Point, North Florida, St. Thomas, UNC Wilmington, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
ODU’s lineup will include Lucia Gonzalez, Barbara Car, Puneet Bajwa, Alina Shchepteva and Carley Rudolf with Mariana Arronte competing as an individual.
The Monarchs are playing in the Lady Paladin Invitational for the fifth time this year. After a 12th-place finish in 2018 and a fourth-place finish in 2019, the team came in second place in 2022. Leah Onosato posted a six-under par 210 to come in fourth while Gonzalez was two strokes behind her and tied for fifth with a final score of four-under 212. ODU finished 14th at the Invitational in 2023 and was led by Rudolf, who carded a four-over 220 to tie for 24th.
