NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's golf team has its first tournament of the fall 2024 season this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 2-3 at Purdue’s Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Indiana. The two-day tournament will be played on the Kampen-Cosler course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, which features a par of 72 and a total yardage of 6,299.
The Classic will begin with 9 a.m. ET shotgun starts on both days with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available through GolfStat with updates for every three holes.
In addition to Old Dominion and Purdue, the 15-team field will also include lineups from Abilene Christian, Alabama, Ball State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, James Madison, Kent State, Michigan, Minnesota, North Florida, Notre Dame, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
ODU's lineup will feature returners Puneet Bajwa, Lucia Gonzalez and Carley Rudolf with newcomers Alina Shchepteva, Barbara Car and Mariana Arronte making their debuts for the Monarchs.
This marks the second year in a row that ODU is competing in the Boilermaker Classic after the team opened its 2023 fall season at the event. The Monarchs finished 11th out of 15 teams with a combined score of 37-over par 901. Alumni Klara Wildhaber was the top finisher for ODU, carding an eight-over 224 to tie for 43rd.
