NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Monarchs will make their first road trip of the 2024 season to Lynchburg, Va. for a 1 p.m. Sunday kick against the Liberty Flames at Osborne Stadium.
The game will have live stats and be streamed on ESPN+.
ODU comes into the contest after a 2-1 win on Thursday night over in-state rival VCU. Rhea Kijowski scored the first goal of the season at 23:38 of the opening half when she corralled a loose ball and stuck it in the far left corner of the net. The Monarchs pushed the lead to 2-0 at 78:11 when Laura Klebek found Yuliia Khrystiuk with a crossing pass and Khrystiuk blasted it into the net.
Liberty started its season at High Point on Thursday night and came away with a 3-1 win as Gabby Miranda scored twice after Halle Engle put the Flames on the board first for the win.
ABOUT ODU
The ODU win was the first at home over VCU since 2008. The Monarchs held a 13-10 shot advantage against the Rams in the match. In corner kicks the Rams held a 9-4 advantage, but the Monarchs

ODU and Liberty last met in an exhibition match at ODU prior to the 2023 season
Bredek and Ashlynn Kulha were named to the preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team, while the Monarchs were picked to finish first by the league coaches. Click here for that release.
ABOUT LIBERTY
Liberty was the preseason pick of the coaches to win Conference USA as they are coming off a league title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023. The Flames finished 16-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in league play.
Ivy Garner and Sallie Garner were selected as preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, while forward Ava Goodman and goalkeeper Ainsley Leja joined them on the preseason All-Conference USA team.
