NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion offensive lineman Stephon Dubose-Bourne was named to the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, the Wuerffel Foundation announced on Thursday.

College Football’s Premier Award for Community Service and one of the most meaningful awards in collegiate sports, The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy is named after Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from the University of Florida who parlayed his success on the football field into a lifetime of service. The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy embodies Wuerffel’s commitment to being a humanitarian, while honoring student-athletes who are inspired to serve others and make positive impacts on society. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Trophy’s founding, and the Foundation will recognize the first nineteen recipients throughout the fall season.

Dubose-Bourne started all 13 games at left guard for the Monarchs in 2023. Off the field, Dubose-Bourne, a Chesapeake native, has been a frequent visitor of local schools to talk to students about focusing on good grades and has mentored the offensive linemen at his high school alma mater, Indian River.

Dubose-Bourne and the Monarchs open the 2024 regular season at South Carolina on Saturday, Aug. 31 and host East Carolina in the home opener on Saturday, Sept. 7. Season tickets are available and can be purchased here.
