NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men’s tennis doubles tandem of Codie van Schalkwyk and Connor van Schalkwyk will open play on Tuesday in the NCAA Doubles Championships at the Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State.
The van Schalkwyks will face Etienne Donnet and Natan Rodrigues of Louisville on Tuesday in the round of 32. Match time will not be set until Monday evening. The Louisville tandem are ranked seventh nationally and are a No. 5-8 seed in the event sporting a 13-4 mark this spring.
“Just so excited to be represented at the highest level of our sport. Codie and Connor had a special year and deserve the chance to prove themselves even further. Louisville is a top 10 tandem for a reason and we will give them a battle,” said ODU Head Coach Dominik Mueller.
On the season, the van Schalkwyks went 11-6 which included a run to the ITA Atlantic Region final and ITA Fall National Championship match. At the fall nationals, the brothers defeated duos from UAB, Pacific, Pepperdine and TCU.
