NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's tennis finishes their 2024 home schedule over this weekend starting with a noon match on Friday with Coastal Carolina. On Saturday morning, they'll celebrate Senior Day facing Georgia Southern at 10 a.m.
 
"I am excited for our team to compete at home this weekend. Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern are both in the top half of the standings and are well coached," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla.
 
ALL TIME VS. COASTAL CAROLINA
This will be the third all-time meeting between the schools with ODU winning the previous two. Last season, ODU defeated Coastal Carolina 5-2 in Conway, South Carolina The Chanticleers took the doubles point, and the first singles point, before ODU reeled off five straight wins in singles for the match. The first meeting was in 2015 as ODU defeated Coastal Carolina 5-2 in Blacksburg, Virginia.
 
ALL TIME VS. GEORGIA SOUTHERN
This will also be the third all-time meeting with Georgia Southern as ODU won both matchups last year 4-0. The regular season meeting, on April 16, saw ODU take the doubles point and garner straight set wins from Tatsiana Sasnouskaya, Alexandra Viktorovitch and Allison Isaacs to take the win. They met 13 days later in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Tournament and ODU used a pair of 6-2 doubles wins at the one and three spots and singles wins from Sasnouskaya, Viktorovitch and Alesya Yakubovich for the 4-0 win.
 
ABOUT ODU (11-5, 7-0)
The Monarchs only had one match last week and they blanked James Madison 7-0 to extend their winning streak to seven matches. Senior Alexandra Viktorovitch locked up the match with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 win over Cate Broerman at No. 2 singles.
 
Lidiia Rasskouskaia leads in spring dual wins going 13-1, while Ulyana Romanova (12-2) and Sofia Johnson (11-1) round out the double figure win totals in singles. In doubles, Johnson and Rasskouskaia are 10-4 to lead the team at the top spot.
 
ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA (12-6, 6-2)
The Chanticleers have won four straight, all at home, defeating South Alabama (4-3), Southern Miss (7-0), ULM (7-0) and Arkansas State (6-1).
 
Coastal Carolina is topped in singles by Jesse Hollins who is 13-4 mainly at No. 3, while Cecile Morin and Kata Foldeak are 12-4 apiece. In doubles, Hollins and Anna Babyan are 13-4 at the top spot.
 
ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN (16-3, 5-2)
The Eagles have won their last two matches defeating Arkansas State (4-2) and ULM (4-0) at home last weekend.
 
Ninon Martinache (15-1) and Paula Hijos (15-3) have the most wins this spring in singles for Georgia Southern. Silvia Martinez (11-4) and Lindsay Tulenko (11-6) are just behind them. In doubles, Sonja Keranen and Martinache have a team best 12-4 record.
