OCALA, Fla. – The Old Dominion men's and women's swimming teams competed in the National Invitational Championships from Thursday to Saturday in Ocala, Florida. The men's team placed 16th out of 36 teams and they scored 193 points. The women's team scored 67 points and took 39th out of 54 teams. 
 
In the first event ODU took 36th in the women's 200 freestyle relay. The team of Tetiana Yevminova, Martina Ciriesi, Kiersten Donnelly and Mary Dunworth finished with a time of 1:35.68.
 
In the men's 200 freestyle relay the team that ODU competed with featured Gustaf Hansson, Jordan Davis, Ryan Lincicum and Jamie Cleaver finished with a time of 1:22.18.
 
In the men's 50 backstroke, Hansson placed 16th with a time of 22.57.
 
Grey Bremer finished 12th in the men's 500 freestyle with a time of 4:26.43.
 
In the women's 50 butterfly, two Monarchs placed with Ciriesi finishing in eighth with a time of 24.68 and Donnelly placing 20th with a time of 25.68.
 
In the men's 50 butterfly, Cleaver took fifth with a time of 21.43.
 
In the women's 400 medley relay the team of Donnelly, Dunworth, Ciriesi and Yevminova placed 31st with a time of 3:52.54.
 
In the men's 400 medley relay, ODU's team of Hansson, Mortimer, Davis and Zach Redding placed 11th with a time of 3:15.90.
 
ODU placed 22nd in the women's 200 medley relay. The team featured Donnelly, Dunworth, Ciriesi and Yevminova finshing with a time of 1:43.00.
 
ODU took 22nd in the men's 200 medley relay. The team of Hansson, Mortimer, Davis and Lincicum finished with a time of 1:30.01.
 
Ciriesi took 12th in the women's 100 butterfly with a time of 54.71.
 
Redding placed 19th in the men's 200 freestyle with a time of 1:38.79.
 
In the men's 100 backstroke, Hansson took 13th with a time of 48.20.
 
In the men's 800 freestyle relay, ODU's team of Bremer, Mortimer, Cleaver and Redding placed 12th with a time of 6:39.54.
 
In the men's 1000 freestyle, Bremer placed 16th with a time of 9:33.79.
 
In the women's 100 IM, Cireisi placed 11th with a time of 56.58.
 
In the men's 300 backstroke, Hansson placed 19th with a time of 1:48.58.
 
Mortimer took 11th in the men's 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:57.19.
 
In the men's 400 freestyle relay, ODU's team of Cleeaver, Lincicum, Bremer and Redding placed 19th with a time of 3:01.24.
