NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's swimming team defeated William & Mary 164-98 on. Saturday at the Scrap Chandler Pool. The women's team fell to William & Mary 213-48 and East Carolina 207-54.
 
The men's 200 medley relay team took first place for the Monarchs as the team of Gustaf Hansson, Dawson Truong, Jamie Cleaver and Zach Redding finished with a time of 1:31.76.
 
In the men's 1000 freestyle, ODU secured the top three spots as Yagiz Ari took first with a time of 9:31.72, following him was Grey Bremer with a time of 9:40.49 and taking third was Alexander Schreck finishing in 9:56.05.
 
Redding took first in the men's 200 freestyle finishing with a time of 1:42.08 and Ryan Lincicum took second with a time of 1:45.01.
 
In the men's 100 backstroke, Hansson took first with a time of 50.25.
 
Mary Dunworth took fourth in the women's 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.45.
 
In the men's 100 breaststroke, Truong took first finshing with a time of 57.08 and Bryce Mortimer finished in third with a time of 57.44.
 
Old Dominion took the top three spots in the men's 200 butterfly as Cleaver placed first with a time of 1:52.76, Schreck followed with a time of 1:55.84 and A.J. Capizzi took third finishing in 1:58.15.
 
 Lauren Masters placed sixth in the women's 50 freestyle with a time of 24.49.
 
In the men's 50 freestyle, Redding placed second with a time of 21.43 and Lincicum took third with a time of 21.68.
 
In the men's 100 freestyle, Cleaver placed second with a time of 46.73 and Brice Bounds took third with a time of 47.82.
 
In the women's 200 backstroke, Martina Ciriesi placed fourth with a time of 2:06.93.
 
Ben Schattenberg took second place with a time of 1:53.75 in the men's 200 backstroke. 
 
In the men's 200 breaststroke, Mortimer took first with a time of 2:04.80.
 
In the men's 500 freestyle, Ari took first with a time of 4:37.08 and Bremer placed second with a time of 4:37.67.
 
In the women's 100 butterfly, Masters placed fifth finishing with a time of 58.18.
 
The Monarchs claimed the top two spots in the men's 100 butterfly as Cleaver placed first with a time of 49.73 and Truong took second with a time of 51.56.
 
Mortimer took first in the men's 200 IM with a time of 1:54.49 and Schattenberg placed third with a time of 1:56.85.
 
In the men's 400 freestyle relay, ODU took second and third. The team of Lincicum, Schattenberg, Bounds and Redding took second with a time of 3:08.22. The third place team of Mortimer, Alec Nolet, Ethan Reiser and Bremer finished with a time of 3:12.35.
 
The Monarchs are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 20 when they host George Mason at noon at the Scrap Chandler Pool.
