Henderson Makes History Again - Named Walter Camp First-Team All-American

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Old Dominion University Football linebacker Jason Henderson notched another first in his list of honors becoming the first Monarch to earn FBS first-team All-America accolades by a group that is recognized by the NCAA, as he was named to the Walter Camp All-America first team Friday night during The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.
 
So far this postseason, Henderson has earned All-America honors from USA Today, The Athletic, CBS Sports and College Football News.
 
Henderson leads the country in tackles with 170 and in tackles per game with 14.2. He ranks third in the nation with 19.5 tackles per game. He is trying to become the first player to lead the country in tackles in back-to-back seasons since Boston College's Luke Kuechly did it in 2010-11.
 
A native of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Henderson recorded 11 double-digit tackle games for the second-straight season and tied his own school record with 22 tackles against Coastal Carolina, which were the second most tackles in an FBS game this season.
 
Henderson is one of three Sun Belt Conference players to be earn Walter Camp first team All-America honors, as he's joined by James Madison defensive end Jalen Green and Marshall kick returner Jayden Harrison.
 
This is the 134th edition of the Walter Camp All-America team, the nation's oldest college football All-America team. Twenty-five players were selected to the first team by the 131 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors. In addition, 25 players were selected to the Second Team.
