NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's soccer team learned of their NCAA Tournament destination on Monday afternoon and it will be a relatively short trip.
 
ODU (13-2-5) will head to Washington, D.C. to take on Georgetown (12-1-7) at Shaw Field on the Georgetown campus Saturday at noon in the first round. The Hoyas won the BIG EAST championship on Sunday defeating Xavier 2-0. Georgetown has gone 8-0-4 since losing to Princeton 3-2 on September 14 and has 12 straight NCAA appearances.
 
The Monarchs are making their fourth-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and third straight bid after winning Conference USA in 2021 and the last two Sun Belt Conference titles. ODU defeated Georgia State (1-0), Georgia Southern (2-1) and James Madison in double overtime (2-1) for the crown last week.
 
Ece Turkoglu scored the equalizer in the title match and earned Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors on Sunday. She was joined on the All-Tournament team by Andrea Balcazar AlgarinThalia MorisiAnessa Arndt and Malia Mariano.
 
This will be the first matchup between the Monarchs and Hoyas. The winner will advance to face the winner of Saint Louis and Indiana.
