NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the SBC announced on Monday.
Henderson tied his own Old Dominion single-game program record with 22 tackles on Saturday against Coastal Carolina. The Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania., product added three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Henderson's 22 tackles are the second-highest single-game total in the FBS this season and perch him firmly atop the FBS ranks with 141 total tackles on the year. He also leads the country with 18 tackles for loss.
Henderson and the Monarchs travel to No. 25 Liberty on Saturday, Nov. 11 for a 1 p.m. start.
