NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team starts a two-game road trip on Saturday taking on the Ball State Cardinals at Worthen Arena in Muncie, Indiana on Saturday at 2p.m.  This game is the first round of the MAC-SBC Challenge as ODU will host a Mid-American Conference team in February. 

The game will be streamed on ESPN+, while you can listen to Matt Hatfield and Dennis Wolff on Fox Sports Radio 1310 with the pre-game show starting at 1:30 p.m. 
 
Old Dominion (1-0) enters the weekend after a 71-57 win over Virginia Wesleyan on Monday. Chaunce Jenkins had 16 points to lead three in double figures for the Monarchs. Tyrone Williams added 15 points off the bench and Bryce Baker matched his career-high with 12 points as ODU hit 43.9% from the floor (25-of-57), 33.3% from 3-point range (4-of-12) and 68% from the foul line (17-of-25). On the boards, ODU held a 49-33 advantage. 
 
Ball State (1-0) started its season with a 101-40 win over Goshen College. The Cardinals closed the first half on a 27-0 run to take a 48-14 lead into halftime. Basheer Jihad paced four in double figures for Ball State with 21 points. The Cardinals were 20-12 (11-7 MAC) last season in head coach Michael Lewis' first leading the program and return junior forwards Mickey Pearson Jr. (7.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game) and Jihad (7.1 points, 3.6 rebounds. 
 
Following Saturday's game, the Monarchs will head to Fayetteville, Arkansas to tangle with the 14th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks on Monday night at 8 p.m.
