ODU Sailing Competes In Van Duyne Championship And ACC Women's Qualifiers

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Sailing team competed in the Van Duyne Championships and the ACC Women's Qualifiers this weekend. 
 
ODU finished 12th out of 17 teams in the ACC Women's Qualifiers. The Division A team of Elizabeth Gildea and Morgan Auth finished 11th overall and the division team finished 13th. Megan Geith and Candence Goodnight competed in races one through four while Gianna Dewey and Allison Volk participated in races 5-17. The division A team's highest finish was fourth and finished in the top 10 in six out of the 17 races. The division B team had a first-place finish and two second place finishes and finished in the top 10 six times. 
 
Finn Ciszewski finished 13th out of 18 and Sam Riley finished 14th out of 18 in the Van Duyne Championships. Ciszewski finished as high as sixth two times and finished inside of the top 10 five out of the 14 races. Riley's highest finish was third and he finished in the top 10 four out of the 14 races. 
 
Old Dominion is back in action next Saturday, Oct. 7 when they compete in the Oyster Bowl and the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Prelims.
