NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team closes out non-conference action on Sunday afternoon when they host the High Point Panthers at 4 p.m. on Monarch Sisters Day.
 
Old Dominion (4-0-2) got the equalizer from Anna Tørsløv in the 64th minute last Sunday in a 1-1 draw against William & Mary. The Tribe got on the board in the 58th minute of action marking the first goal allowed this season by the Monarchs in 508:49. That is the second longest scoreless run, time wise, in program history only trailing a 528:41 span in the 2018 season.
 
High Point (2-2-3) defeated UMBC 1-0 on Thursday night behind a Fain Buete penalty kick goal at 59:06. The Panthers dropped a 3-1 decision to East Carolina on Sunday as Lilly Neubauer scored in the 58th minute off a feed from Bri Davis.
 
ABOUT ODU
Tørsløv, Thalia Morisi and Ece Turkoglu lead the Monarchs in goals scored with two each. Turkoglu and Tørsløv each have one assist to share the team lead in points with five, while Morisi has four. A trio of players have three points as Ashlynn Kulha, Rhea Kijowski and Andrea Balcazar Algarin each have scored one goal and have one assist. In the net, Emily Bredek has recorded all five shutouts with four of them being solo clean sheets.
 
RECORD MATCH
The nearly 509 minutes of shutouts by the Monarchs is the longest to start the season in school history and only trailed Providence in NCAA Diviison I who had a streak of 530 minutes stopped on Thursday night.
 
ABOUT HIGH POINT
Heading into the week, Davis leads the team in scoring with one goal and one assist for three points. Buete, Leah Malone, Meg Roden and Neubauer each have one goal for High Point. They tied Campbell (2-2), App State (0-0) and Florida Gulf Coast (1-1), while defeating UNC Greensboro (1-0) and dropping decisions to Marshall (1-0) and East Carolina before Thursday's win at UMBC.
