NORFOLK, Va. – After earning three huge points in the Sun Belt Conference standings following a road win at Georgia Southern on Sunday, the Old Dominion women's soccer team hosts Southern Miss on Saturday for Senior Day.
 
Prior to the start of the match, the Monarchs will honor five seniors who are playing their final seasons at ODU: Malia Mariano, Ece Turkoglu, Anna Torslov, Megan Watts and Alaina McKnight.
 
ODU enters after scoring a pair of second half goals from Riley Mullen and Megan Watts in the 2-1 win at Georgia Southern on Sunday. Southern Miss has recorded a pair of 2-1 wins last week at Troy and home over Arkansas State. On the road this year, Southern Miss is 1-3.
 
This is the first matchup since both teams were in Conference USA as ODU defeated Southern Miss 1-0 to win the 2021 C-USA Tournament title. ODU is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings with the Golden Eagles.

Emily Bredek leads the Sun Belt in shutouts and is sixth nationally with six, while she also leads the league and 10th nationally in goals against average with .308.

Adaira Nakano leads the Golden Eagles in goals scored with six and is ranked third in the conference in that category. Rebeka Vega, Parker Martin and Chloe Taylor follow her with two each. Nakano also shares the assist lead with Hinano Nakagawa and Emilee Torres with two each.
 
In goal, Alex Helbing has started all season with a goals against average of 1.48, a save percentage of .745 and a pair of shutouts.
