NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's soccer team continues a four-match homestand this Saturday night as they host Coastal Carolina in a Sun Belt Conference affair.
Saturday's match will be the Gold Game for Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Fans are encouraged to bring an unopened toy to donate to receive free admission. Also, it is Youth Night!
Old Dominion comes in off a 1-0 win over Kentucky on Sunday night as Karan Mandair's penalty kick early in the second half and stellar defense gave the Monarchs their first win over Kentucky since 2017. Mandair has three goals this year, with all three on penalty kicks.
Coastal Carolina enters off a 3-2 come from behind win at home over then 12th-ranked James Madison on Saturday night. After trailing 2-1 at half, goals from Noe Santos and Deryn Armstrong rallied the hosts to the win.
The Chanticleers lead the all-time series 5-1-1 after defeating ODU 2-1 on October 23, 2022 in Conway, S.C.

Mandair with his three goals now leads the Monarchs in scoring, while William Arnesen, Jonas Schmalbach and Key White have two each. Nathan Lam tops the team in assists with three, with Arnesen having two helpers.
In the net, Michael Statham has three clean sheets this year and has a .789 save percentage in eight matches.
The win over Kentucky continues the longest unbeaten streak to start a season since 2003 when they won their first 14 matches.
With another tie, the Monarchs will tie the Sun Belt Conference single season record for most ties with six. Three teams share that mark, including the 1990 Old Dominion Monarchs who finished 8-6-6.
ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
Armstrong leads the team in scoring thus far with two goals and two assists for six points. Doug Hainer and Noe Santos are next with a goal and an assist each for three points.
In goal, Killian Vallant has started seven of the eight matches with two clean sheets, a 1.14 goals against average and a save percentage of .795.
