NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Field Hockey team is back in action on Friday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. for a BIG EAST matchup at Providence.

ODU is coming off a 2-0 weekend where they didn't allow a goal against #19 Temple and William & Mary. Nicole Fredricks was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after helping the team record two shutouts as well as scoring a goal. Marlon de Bruijne still leads the Monarchs offensively with 13 points and six goals, while Sanci Molkenboer trails her with 11 points and five goals. Frederique Zandbergen and Emily Tammaro both lead the team with three assists. Suus Broers has made 26 saves in goal this season and has four shutouts on the season.
Providence is coming off a 1-1 weekend with a loss to #9 Liberty, 5-2 on Friday and a 5-0 win over Merrimack on Sunday. Lisa McNamara leads the Friars with 10 points and five goals. Four Friars are all tied with two assists on the year.
Last season the Monarchs faced the Friars in Norfolk which finished in favor of ODU 7-0. Old Dominion leads the all-time series 12-1with the only loss coming in 2016.
