NORFOLK, Va. – Coming off a tough 1-0 loss Thursday night to Louisiana, the Old Dominion women's soccer team hits the road for a 1p.m. Sunday afternoon kick at Georgia Southern.
 
This is the second road Sun Belt Conference match for the Monarchs who defeated Coastal Carolina 1-0 on September 15. The loss to Louisiana snapped an eight-match unbeaten streak to start the season which is a school record.
 
Georgia Southern dropped a 2-1 decision on Thursday night at South Alabama. They are 2-1 at home defeating North Florida (4-1), College of Charleston (3-1) and losing to Georgia (1-0).
 
The Eagles won the first-ever meeting on Sept. 25, 2022 with a 1-0 decision in Norfolk.

Thalia Morisi  leads the team in goals scored (3) and points (6), while Anna Tørsløv and Ece Turkoglu have scored two goals with one assist apiece for five points. Andrea Balcazar Algarin, Rhea Kijowski and Ashlynn Kulha each have one goal and one assist for three points.
 
In the net, Emily Bredek has had six shutouts, with a goals against average of 0.23 and a .909 save percentage.
 
ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Smith Cathey leads the team in goals scored with three, while four others have two apiece. Simone Timm leads in assists with four and points with eight, followed by Cathey and Bri Conley with six points each.
 
Quinn Wilson has patrolled the net for much of the season with two shutouts, a 1.01 goals against average and a .810 save percentage.
