Women's Golf Travels to Furman for Lady Paladin Invitational

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women's golf has its second tournament of the fall this weekend at the Lady Paladin Invitational, which will be held at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, South Carolina.

Furman's home course has a total yardage of 6,262 and a par of 72. The three-day tournament will have 10 a.m. shotgun starts for the first two rounds on Friday and Saturday and a 9 a.m. shotgun start for Sunday's final round.

ODU will be one of 16 teams competing in the Invitational. Other schools in the field include Augusta, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Daytona State, East Carolina, Furman, Georgia State, James Madison, Memphis, Nevada, North Florida, Tulane, UNCW, Western Kentucky and Xavier.

The lineup for the Monarchs will consist of Klara Wildhaber, Puneet Bajwa, Carley Rudolf, Sarah Mardani and Lucia Gonzalez. Additionally, Svarin Yuenyong will play as an individual.

This weekend will be the fourth time that ODU will play in the Lady Paladin Invitational. After finishing 12th in 2018, the Monarchs placed fourth in 2019 thanks to a final round of three-under par 285. Jana Melichova tied for second after carding a three-under 213 and Leah Onosato tied for 12th with a 54-hole total of 219 (+3).

Last year marked ODU's best finish at the Invitational as the Monarchs took second with a combined five-over 869. Onosato led the team and placed fourth with a six-under 210 and Gonzalez was two strokes behind her and tied for fifth at four-under 212.
