NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion volleyball team is back on its home court this Tuesday as the Monarchs host William & Mary for a 5 p.m. match at the ODU Volleyball Center.
The meeting with the Tribe will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will also be available. As part of ODU's Monarchs Give Back initiative, fans who bring a canned good or non-perishable item to tomorrow's match will get in free.
Series History
Tuesday's match will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
About ODU
The Monarchs (2-0) opened their season with a 3-1 win over VCU last Friday in the opening match of the Quest for the Crown tournament, then defeated Norfolk State in straight sets on Saturday. Bryanna Jones was voted Tournament MVP after tallying 29 kills (4.14 per set) and 32 points (4.57 per set) while hitting .333 through both matches. She was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Elisa Maggi, Teresa Atilano and Myah Conway.
Conway followed Jones with 22 kills, while newcomers Alice Munari and Maggi added 12 and 10 kills, respectively. As a team, ODU recorded a .308 hitting percentage, which leads the Sun Belt through the opening weekend of the season. The Monarchs also currently rank second in the conference in assists (12.86 per set), kills (13.71 per set) and service aces (2.14 per set).
Atilano aided the offensive effort with 74 assists, her average of 10.57 per set ranking her fifth in the league. Kira Smith served a team-high four aces, Jones contributed three, and Munari, Atilano and Kate Kilpatrick served two each. On defense, Atilano, Conway and Olivia De Jesus recorded three blocks each while Kilpatrick led the back row with 26 digs (3.71 per set).
About William & Mary
The Tribe (2-1) spent this past weekend at App State's Mountaineer Classic. On Friday, W&M fell to the tourney hosts 3-0, but secured its first victory of the season with a 3-2 win over Tennessee Tech, edging the Golden Eagles 15-10 in the deciding set. W&M then capped off the trip with a 3-1 win against Bellarmine on Saturday.
Taylor Burrell and Lindsay Kahren represented the Tribe on the All-Tournament Team. Burrell led the attack with 27 kills (2.25 per set) and 35 points. The graduate student from Boca Raton, Florida also served six aces and added 13 digs and three blocks to her tournament totals. Kahren, the team's libero, had 35 digs (2.92 per set) to go along with nine assists and three aces.
Eleanor Stothoff was named to the Coastal Athletic Association's Preseason All-Conference Team as the Tribe was picked to finish eighth by the league's head coaches. A transfer from Michigan State, Stothoff earned All-CAA Second Team honors last year after leading the team with 284 kills and 3.56 points per set.
Ryan Adams was named the program's 10th head coach in school history back in January. He was previously the head coach at Lafayette the past four seasons and was named Patriot League Coach of the Year in 2021. He was also on the Tribe's staff as an assistant coach in 2016-17.

ODU will be in Annapolis, Maryland this Friday and Saturday to play in the Naval Academy's Kristen Dickmann Invitational. The Monarchs will open the tournament with a 4 p.m. match versus Maryland on Friday. The team then has two matches on Saturday: an 11 a.m. tilt with Utah Valley and a 7 p.m. match against Navy.
