Jason Henderson Named to Nagurski Trophy Watch List

DALLAS – Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced on Tuesday.
 
In 2022, Henderson led the country with 186 tackles and featured 11 games with double-digit tackles, including the only player in the country with multiple 20+ tackle games. He notched a school record 22 stops against Georgia Southern and had 21 tackles against Arkansas State.
 
Henderson earned five All-America honors last season, including four second-team honors. He earned first-team All-Sun Belt Conference accolades and was named the Touchdown Club of Richmond Linebacker of the Year.
 
A native of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Henderson broke the ODU and Sun Belt single-season records for tackles.
 
A total of 94 players are on the watch list, including six from the Sun Belt Conference: Micah Abraham (Marshall), Yam Banks (South Alabama), James Carpenter (James Madison), Henderson, Owen Porter (Marshall) and Reddy Steward (Troy). Click here for the full release.
