PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Old Dominion golfer Leah Onosato turned in a four-over par 76 to tie for 43rd on the final day of the 2023 Palm Beach Gardens Regional.

Onosato teed off from the 10th hole on Wednesday morning and birdied the par-four 11th hole and par-five sixth hole. With a nine-over 81 in Monday's opening round and an even 72 on Tuesday, she finished with a 54-hole total of 13-over 229.

"It was a bittersweet day for Leah and I," said head coach Mallory Kane. "I am sad to see her career come to an end, but I am so proud to have been her coach. She leaves behind a one-of-a-kind legacy."

Michigan State won the Regional with an eight-over 872 and Duke was the runner-up with an 11-over 875. The other three teams that punched their ticket to the NCAA Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona were Texas and Northwestern, who tied for third at 14-over 878, and LSU, who came in fifth with a 15-over 879. LSU's Latanna Stone and Michigan State's Brook Biermann were co-medalists as they both finished with scores of three-under 213. Miami's (Fla.) Sara Byrne was third and also qualified for the NCAA Championship with a two-under 214.

"Leah has always been one of the best scholar athletes to compete for ODU," continued Kane. "I look forward to seeing what she does with the next phase of her life. I'm glad she will be around for another year or so completing her Master's degree."
