ODU Lacrosse Takes On Cincinnati On Saturday

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team hits the road of Saturday, April 22 when they will travel to take on American Athletic Conference foe Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium starting at 12 p.m.   
  
ODU fell to Temple on Saturday, April 15 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex by a final score of 19-5. Moira Olexa scored three goals for the Monarchs in the loss.  
  
Offensively for Old Dominion Sydney Taylor leads all three statistical categories with a team high 29 points, 20 goals and nine assists. Caroline Shaefer has 44 draw controls on the season which moves her to number nine in the programs single season record book. Shaefer also holds the number two spot after recording 68 draw controls last season.  
  
Maria Rekus has led the Monarchs on the defensive side causing a team high 30 turnovers and ties her for eighth in the ODU record book for single season caused turnovers. Jenna Peccia has made 131 saves in goal this season and has also recorded a team-high 55 ground balls. The 55 ground balls Peccia has recorded puts her in sixth for most in a single season and she is one ground ball away from moving into fifth place.  
  
Cincinnati is coming of a 17-8 loss to #4 James Madison on Sunday. Kylie Gioia scored four goals for the Bearcats in the loss. Leading the Bearcats offensively is Camryn Callaghan with 62 points and 50 goals and has added 12 assists. The team leader in assists is Ava Goeller with 15.  
  
The Monarchs and Bearcats met last season in Norfolk with the result being 17-11 in favor of Cincinnati. Cincinnati leads the all-time series 3-0.
