ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Old Dominion University Sailing finished sixth place at the MAISA Spring Women's Championship, third at the Truxtun Umsted and second at the Azalea Bowl Regatta over the weekend.
 
At the MAISA Women's Championships, Old Dominion was 2-4 in the opening round with wins over George Washington and Hobart & William.
 
In round two the Monarchs finished topped Navy and George Washington.
 
ODU finished the final round with a 1-5 record with a third win over George Washington.
 
ODU was led by Megan Geith and Cadence Goodnight, the second boat was led by Allison Jeanne Volk and Katherine Barton and the third boat was led by Elizabeth Gildea and Isabelle Kanach.
 
Old Dominion had a solid third-place finish out of 14 teams at the Truxton Umsted. ODU tied for second on points with Georgetown and SUNY Maritime but won the tie-breaker with the Privateers and the more high-place finishes over the Hoyas. 
 
The Division A duo of Rider Odom and Asia Acosta took sixth with six top-five finishes with one race win.
 
The Division B team of Finn Ciszewski and Grace Wright registered a second-place spot with seven top-five finishes and a race win.
 
At the Azalea Bowl Regatta, the Monarchs delivered a second-place finish out of 15 teams. the Division A group of Diogo Silva and Parker Younger placed first with three race wins, while the Division B squad of Tyler Brown and Lindsey Kaufmann placed fourth with eight top-five finishes. 
 
ODU Sailing split up next weekend for Admiral's Cup in New York, MAISA Spring Women's Dinghy in Maryland and George Washington Invitational in Alexandria on April 22-23.
